Synopsis:
The main event of the final night of the 2015 FantastiaMania tour was this high flying showcase match. Like many lucha in Japan matches, this one focuses on big time high spots more than anything else. Sombra and Dorada roll out impressive move after impressive move, which the Korakuen Hall crowd eats up. This match won’t be for everyone, but was the exact right match for its audience and circumstances. Dorada – who was announced pre-match has having signed a one-year contract with NJPW – is the star as he pulls off almost a dozen highlight reel moves.

La Sombra pinned Mascara Dorada in 18:23. Dorada was fantastic here. Sombra was slower, heavier and does some cool things and missed a spot. He came out in this all white suit like an 80s Ric Flair with a monster mask. Dorada did a running flip tornillo dive. He did a ropewalk into an Asai moonsault. Sombra worked in a tight full body suit which to me doesn’t work well for him. Dorado went for a moonsault but Sombra got his feet up. Sombra did a moonsault off the top rope to the floor. Sombra took off his T-shirt and threw it in Yuji Nagata’s face. Nagata was at ringside doing commentary. Sombra went for a springboard sunset flip that Dorada reversed into a sunset flip. Dorada did a ropewalk into a huracanrana sending Sombra into the ring for a near fall. Dorada did a dive over the top into a huracanrana on the floor. They traded hard chops. Sombra did a reverse Frankensteiner off the top for a near fall, and eventually won with a schoolboy suplex. It ended with Sombra challenging Nagata. ***3/4
